Want to start a business

Hi Guys,

I have been looking around this site and have been 'wowed' by some of the impressive finishes that have been achieved with anodising. This has got me thinking that I would like to set up a business in this area.

What I would like to know is how do I go about establishing a market of people that will want 'stuff' to be anodised? I think i could get a few mates that will want some parts done on their show cars, But I need to find some line that will consistantly bring in the work. Any ideas/hints? Or are most of you guys/girls here just for hobby style.

We do not have the big paintballing thing over here in Australia where everyone owns their own gun, we use theirs.

It is difficult to project what might be a demand in an area I not familiar with. A start would be to talk to car clubs, machine shops, motorcycle groups to see if there is a demand in the market. Watch for cast aluminum parts as they can be difficult to anodize. It may be there is only enough work for a part time business or you may find you can make it full time by adding other coating options like powder coating or chroming. Best of luck. SS
