Re: pictures of setups
Look in the members gallery. I have an album that shows the setups I've had from 3-1/2 gal to the 20 gal I am using now. If there is something in particular you don't see that you want to, just let me know.
The totes work ok but at this time I use 4 gal paint buckets with lids from Lowe's or Home Depot. They are made of HDPE and have thicker walls than the totes. I have run the gamut of ways to heat the dyes. The way I use now has been the best and easiest. I ordered 7 of the 300W ceramic heaters and 2 thermostats to control the heaters from Caswell. The thermostats will control up to 3 heaters. One heater can heat 4 gal of dye to 140* in 30 to 60 min depending on ambient temp. I can put 3 colors on the bench when I start a run, pull the lids, drop the heaters in and the dye is ready when the run is through anodizing. To change out colors, just unplug the thermostat let cool a few minutes and rinse the heaters off over the dye tank. I use 2 heaters with a thermostat for my 5 gal bucket of deox/desmut and 2 heaters with no thermostat for my 5 gal bucket of sealer. The sealer bucket is the only one that really needs a insulation wrap so it will hold the heat and not dissipate the heat to fast. Without a wrap it gets to and maintains 200* +-15*.
Anything else, just ask. That's what we're here for. SS
