Default Bright Dip?

I have been having great results. I have notice that if a part is polished you get a bright shiny finish but alot of my part are vibratory tumbled finish and those parts come out dull. I heard at large anodize house I can have my parts bright dipped. Does anyone know what that process is? thanks

If it is true bright dipping. It's dipping the parts in a harsh acid (don't remember which kind) at an extremely elevated temperature. Not a DIY setup. If you do a search of the posts, there are a few on that subject.

From memory, the bright dip is something like a 90% Phosphoric Acid and 10% Nitric Acid solution operated at near boiling. This is not a toy and certainly should not be taken lightly! Harmfull fumes (I refer to it as mustard gas) are produced with this bath...EXTREME CAUTION should be used when handling this stuff!! Really nasty....Not to mention the environmental regulations that goes along with it. Another thing to mention is that its a pain to keep active...Again, from memory, if the Nitric Acid concentration falls to far from spec, you're parts come out nicely etched - not polished.

BE CAREFULL and do some more research on the topic before playing with it...Please, please, please!
