Default Anodized handgun frame

I was wondering about how to refinish such an item.

1. Do the anodized layers that firearm manufacturers use on their aluminum frames compare to an anodized finish I would get from using one of your anodization kits, or are they "hard anodized"

2. Can you matte electroless nickel using zincate on top of an anodized layer of such a part and retain strength? If so, how thick would this new zincate/nickel layer be?

3. How well would a person prepare an anodized surface for application of Teflon? I was thinking using a light pressure blast, just enough to scuff up the surface

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

"Hard anodizing' is really a misnomer. All anodizing is very hard, by changing the acid concentration you can make a slightly harder surface, but this is not suitable for dying.

Anodize is an insulator, therefore you can't plate on top of it.

What are you trying to do here? Why do you need the teflon surface?
We will be bringing out a new EN system shortly. Watch the web page for details.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!
