Default 3m masking

Some parts i did last night(only took about 6 beers).Ran 5 pieces the same size 1/4 x 1 1/2 x 9 1/2 and a shifter off a suzuki(about the same size. cast).Been using a 225 amp charger with a dimmer.1 - 3 acid ratio,15 gal tank.Set it to about 16.6 volts which put the amps at about 10 and ran for 90 minutes.Dried with compressed air and masked with 3m plastic tape that i got at an auto paint store.Worked pretty good, stayed on ,didnt leech under and peeled easy when done.

Wish i could get the pics bigger, they look better. The black and silver i anodized, compressed air dried then masked and dyed black. The orange one was totally dyed orange, dried then masked then dyed black. Today i tried some elmers rubber cement but it was too thick to work with.Anyone know something a little thinner or what to thin the Elmers with?
Thanks
Scott

You can thin the rubber cement with lacquer thinner... I thin it down about 50%, but it may take a couple coats of this material.

now did this taping leave behind any sticky residue? I recently did some masking and I was left with this sticky goo.

After you seal it, remove the residue with lacquer thinner.

ok then do I reinsert into the sealer to seal the areas that may have not recieved the proper sealing treatment due to the gunk covering that area?

Usually, what I do is seal for about 10min., then pull and rinse, and wipe the goo off with lacquer thinner, then seal for 20 minutes to finish. The lacquer thinner does not affect the ano or dye what-so-ever.

I did get some sticky res. and i think i laquer thinner it before sealing.Seemed to seal ok. Was one spot where the masking wasnt pressed down tight enough and it left like a spot kinda like a finger print.
Has anyone every tried to do ano flames with like a fade process?Sorry for changing the topic! Thinking about getting some yellow to go with the red and orange.....
