Default tank

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for info on tanks, more to the point, what type of plastics will stand up to the solution(s) that are used in LCD ano. All input welcome.
Thanks
Canute

I'm a fan of the polypropylene myself. Easy to weld and holds up nicely. My tanks are 1/2 thick PP sheet which I cut and welded into 45 gal tanks. Ran PP ribs around the top and middle of the tank and they are strong, strong, strong!!

Just my $0.02

I bought a bottom of the barrel plastic welder. Its a ProTec if I recall. It was cheap but effective. You'll need an air supply (compressor with regulator) to run it. I built my own forced air unit with a small squirrel cage which pushed air through about 20' of light, flexible sump-pump hose. This hose end was fitted to the welder and viola. Other than that, you'll need some welding wire (I used just round, approx. 1/8" dia), a router so you can bevel the edges and make room for the weld bead and side cutters or something to cut the welding rod with. Tell him to make a few practice runs on a piece of scrap...I was making professional weld seams within an hour of playing around. He's gonna have to maintain an approx. 5lbs of downward pressure on the welding rod at all times so his hand is gonna get tired...I hope he drinks beer...It helps! LoL

Cheers!
