Default tank filter

Ive heard of filters made to filter the acid bath, one of which was submersible, and had a washable reuseable filter, anyone know where something like this would be available? Caswell sells one, but the charcoal filters are not reusable

caswell gave me one that is their submersable agitator.

Has an attachment at the bottom with a plastic filer, pretty good for catching fibres, hair, pet hair, or some dirt that made its way into the tank.

Go to a pet smart and pick up one of the agitators, the filters are sold seperate.

they hold up pretty well in the acid, but they wont catch all sand or smaller particles....it will only catch a bit of it.

I filtered mine once like this to remove a bunch of plastic shavings from drilling holes for bulk head fittings, that caused lots problems with my agitation pipes

Anyway pick a spot to drain it at (where ever your drain is) get a plastic cup and cut bottom out of it, put one of the thick types of paper towels over the cup and drain thru that

I also do this regular with a glass coffe cup to skim the top, pour the solution thru the thick paper towel like above right back into the tank

I use coffee filters. I took a large plastic funnel, and lined it with plastic mesh to keep the filter away from the sides. You can scoop and pour through the filter, or drain your tank through it into a clean container, and then clean your tank good before pouring the acid back into the tank.
When I first tried using plastic pipe to circulate and cool/heat the acid, I used that clear flexible vinyl tubing. I found the plastisizers in that material will leach an oily film into the tank, which will stick to the sides like a nasty bathtub ring. The floating oils are easily filtered out, but the oil ring needs to be removed.

I found some handy 5 gallon water jugs at a local rural king...their great, I can chill 2 of them full to electrolyte....and when Im ready to do a run, dump it back in there and boom the tanks at 68-70...at the end of the run its usually like ~75 so it never causes a problem. I seem to get gunk and stuff in my containers, bugs thinks its a swimming pool when I have the lid open, dust seems to be attracted to it. It doesnt seem to affect my overall finish, but it does annoy me seeing all this stuff in the bottom. Also, does the fume suppressant leave a grey silt looking stuff on the bottom?
