cast
is there any tricks i need to know to successfully anodize cast. the other day i put a cast piece in my etching bucket and it came out with a black film on it. the only way i could remove it was to re bead blast it. this has happened to me before on parts that wernt cast. if anyone has any ideas on why this happened i would love to know

That black stuff on The cast is called smut. It is composed of the impurities in the cast as the etch will not react with them.
