Default Why does this happen with ti plates?

I have been using alu. racking for small parts. Finally decided to try my Ti racks. After running them by themselves I found I would nrrd to add .22 amp. I have been running the same product all weekend. With the ti plates it is 6" SA because of the alu racks I need to run 72 SA.

The problem:
When I use the alu. I can run my power supply at 3.30 amp @4-7 volts for the duration.

When I use the ti I tried ti run .72 to shorten the run time. But the power supply maxes out at 15.5 volts and will only put out maybe .30 amps.

I thought maybe it was connection but every run does this? Is there something I should be doing differnt with the ti racking?

SA should be right on. I am running a CD of 6. The only differnce is I have to add 64SA to the al. racking.

Racking with Ti I haven't seen any differences electrically. Going by the info you give, I have a possibility.

For a 6 ASF, a 15V peak +-4V is normal. The lower voltage you get with alum. rack could be from a high conductivity of the alum plate due to it's size and/or grade. This is providing that the other parameters are fairly consistent.

If I were in your shoes I would drop the CD down to 4.5 ASF and give it a try. It'll give you a calculated peak voltage of 11.25V and still have room for resistance in the circuit before maxing out your PS. I know it'll take longer but it may answer some questions.

Do most of your runs usually have about the same peak voltage without the racking?
