Default Newbie setup questions

I have read/looked over all 30 some pages and have a few questions. I just got my kit last week. After reading the book, watching the DVD and scaning this fourm, I can't seem to be sure how I am supposed to utilize all the heaters and the one stat.

my kit came with 4 300W ceramic heaters and 2 200W "fishtank" heaters.

page 115 of the book shows 5 300W and 1 200W.

Where does the stat go? the book shows 1 in the de-oxide and 1 in the dye.

Have I missed something??

Also, do I leave the filter cage on the pump or does it matter?

Thanks for any help in advance

The problem is that the kit and the instructions have undergone several upgrades and changes in the last year. They are not completely in sync. You should call Caswell or file a PRS. Let them know the problem. To get by for now use the thermostat on the deox and dye at 110*, after putting the parts through deox unplug that heater and adjust the temp to 140*. The dye should be ready by the end of the run. Unless it's below 60*, you won't need the heater in the ano tank. You'll need two heaters / no thermostat in the sealer.

I can't say about the cage on the pump. I don't think it would matter but I'm not familiar with that setup.

Mine came with four 300s and one 200. Two of the 300s I only use in the sealer, and the other two I move back and forth between the de-ox and the dye (and tstat moves with them). I use two at a time just for faster heating. Rinse thoroughly with RO (reverse osmosis) water between moves. You might want to pull the heater up out of the solution to let it cool a bit before hitting it with cold water. I haven't had one shatter but I suppose it's a possibility. Don't forget to unplug it before pulling it - I melted a tub pretty good once.

I leave the filter cage on but the foam filter out.
