Default Hydrochloric Acid

I want to start anodising my work rather than contracting it but can't get small quantities of Sulphuric Acid here in the UK. I have heard talk of being able to use Hydrochloric Acid instead, please can someone let me know if this is true?

If so what sort of concentration do I need?

Thanks

Jon

If you cant find it at an autoparts store look in the phonebook under material handling. There are electric forklifts everywhere. Where the forklifts are serviced so are the batteries. Just make sure you ask for the correct gravity 12.65.

No, here we have to buy a new battery although it is common to top them up with distilled water occasionally.

Too bad if you can't find sulfuric acid locally... it's only $12 for a 5gal container here.
I'm pretty sure you don't want to use hydrochloric acid. Keep searching for the sulfuric. Try google searching; plating supplies, industrial batteries, automotive batteries, battery distributors, chemical distributors, chemical supplies, etc.

Really? Home Depot?
I just did a quick search and couldn't find your reference at the Home Depot site. Are you sure it's Sulfuric Acid?
