Default have a ? on hard-anodizing

I have a SAGE ebr stock for a m1a rifle. It is hard anodized with a light grey finish.

Can I have the stock re-anodized to a black finish?

The company says it will be out of spec if I had it done.

Will the reciever still fit into the stock?

How much will the metal grow?
I thought about sand blasting and painting.

Your questions are more suited to a qualified gunsmith. You should be able to get it done in black. I don't know what the tolerances for the receiver to stock fit are. The company couldn't elaborate on what would be out of spec and why. That's a very vague statement. In anodizing, you are dealing with only a couple of thousandths of an inch. Sand blasting and painting will usually have the same or more change in dimensional measurements.

I thought the same thing about the paint adding more to thickness.

I do want to have it reanodized to black.

Any one cear to take on the job?

I can send pics of the parts and dimensions

thanks,
Tim

Is the reciever cast metal? or machined.
