Is it a part you did?
I've seen crazing from heat but I haven't seen anodize do that.

Wow, wierd... never seen that happen before.
Looks like a CP on/off? I know those are 6000 or 5000 series, so shouldn't be a problem with mixed batch over-anodizing. Maybe something different with the prep?
When you peel off the layer, is it chalky at the base metal?
What prep, ano temp, CD, duration, and sealing method?

The Part was redone and came out fine. The layer wasnt chalky, My acidbath was ~69-72, only one side flaked, and only after it was sealed. Sealed in boiling nickel acetate. I could peel it off in little sheets, when I peeled the flakes off, the metal underneath was fine, still glossy and smooth. I dont remember the CD since I use CV anodizing instead of CC.

I did about 25 parts in that load, and only this part did it.

Don't boil your sealer, 190 degrees is all it needs. Boiling can shorten it's life.

Huh? I always boil in nickel sealer... first I've heard not to do it.
