Default "Masking" with silicone?

I have a small aluminum tube with a brass-bushing pressed inside of it. Since other metals than aluminum contaminate the anodizing bath would it be possible to fill the tube with silicone for example, and then to the anpdizing process? Or does the silicone dissolve in the sulphuric acid or contaminate it?

Thanks!

You may have a hard time removing it, but silicone will make it through a run. I use rubber cement when possible, but you can't just fill the tube with it. Can you simply cork the ends?
