Animal is on a distinguished road
Default question

For you Guru's

im using a constant current 5 amp power supply i purchased from Caswell.

When Anodizing 6061 T6 Aluminum the "volt" meter will climb upwerds of 14 volts no problem.

When Anodizing 2024 T351 Aluminum the "volt" meter will max out around 9.2 volts.

is this normal? why wouldnt the 2024 voltage climb as high as the 6061?

cprocess is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: question

This is a normal observation. The reason for this voltage difference, is that the main alloying element in the 6061 alloy is silicone, while the main alloying element in 2024 is copper.
