Default Fast Blue with a green tint

I ordered the Fast Blue dye in hopes to more closely match the 3M painters tape in the pictures. The background part was dyed with Blue 4A but trying to keep it light to try to make the match. When it didn't, I ordered the Fast blue. But as I hope you can tell by the pictures, there's a greenish tint to it. Nice color in itself... but not what I was going for. I'm here asking if anyone else has ever gotten a dye that seems off in tint? or is there anything different that I can control in the anodizing process to control tints of a dye or does it vary by alloy?

Yes, different alloys will cause a difference in colors.
You are going for a pretty deep blue, so I hope you are anodizing to a full 1mil.
I often match colors. Sometimes if the color is coming out too green, I'll give it a quick dunk in red, then go on with blue. Too purple, dunk in green or yellow.
I have a good eye for color, and sometime forget color tinting is a hard thing to learn.
If you think of the color wheel, with the primary and secondary colors, it might be easier to think of which direction to go.

I went for about .7 mil hoping that the color of the anodize wouldn't affect the blue shade as much. My theory was that the clear anodize layer would result in some off silver color which it usually does and it must have some yellow tint in it to be pulling the color to green. The blue I'm going for is actually kind of light in my opinion which is another reason I chose to go thinner on the thickness. The pictures probably don't illustrate that the best. The customer indicated that he ideally would want it a little lighter than the tape... but will accept something close.

Great tip on the color tinting. I'll have to try that this weekend.
