Tattoos and graphics are two different things (in my mind) and get confused all the time.
A tattoo is a gloss image in a beadblasted background, or vise-versa. It's done by placing a mask on a gloss part, then beadblasting the surounding area. After the mask is removed, the part is anodized and dyed normally (all one color).
A graphic is a colored image. The part is ano'd and dyed the graphic color, then a mask of the image is applied. The surounding dye is removed with bleach and dilute acid, rinsed, and then dyed the background color (with the mask still applied). Then the part can be sealed for awhile, the mask removed (along with all the remaining adhesive), and further sealed.
It is possible to do a tattoo'd graphic as well.

Acidrain, if using vinyl for mask, do you take the vinyl off before seal. Or seal for a little while then remove vinyl mask and finish sealing.

I double seal... once before removing the mask, and then once after.
