Default Looking for a Great Deal on a Power Supply?

Guys:
I was just nosing around Ebay and I saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com/NJE-Dc-Power-Sup...QQcmdZViewItem. It's a used NJE 40v20A CC CV power supply for $50. I already own two of these or I'd buy this one. I love the two that I have.

I actually bought this from that guy. It arrived today and I have a few questions. Hopefully you, or other owners, can assist me. (It came with no manual or anything)

1. Label does not say, but I'm assuming its 115V AC input, and hard wired in on the back?

2. Both the Volt and Amp knobs have 2 knobs, an inner and outer. What are the function of both knobs?

3. DC output has a ground jack. I've never seen a ground jack on DC output. What should I ground this to?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but I'd say that one is a coarse adjustment and one is a fine adjustment. Not sure on the other two questions.

The input voltage is usually molded into the housing where the cord goes in.

2. Both the Volt and Amp knobs have 2 knobs, an inner and outer. What are the function of both knobs?

Coarse and fine adjustment for each

Most have a red/positive jack, a black/negative jack, and a green/earth ground jack. Use the red and the black jacks for your leads and don't use the green for anything.

Thanks!
Most with knobs work very similar. It's the ones with number pads that get complicated.

There is no power cord, just a line of about 15 terminals on the back, which 1 and 2 say "input voltage". Nowhere on the unit does it say 115/120V AC though. Surely, its not 220V, though.

I'd be leery or putting voltage to anything without knowing. Do you have any electronic shops near you of google the web and look for a manual on it.

hvacman250,

I would be surprised if it was 220V. I did a search and came up with this link http://ion4.com/category.php?cat_id=15. The PS listing is down almost to the bottom of the page. Unfortunately there is no input voltage listed. You may be able to get a manual or the information you need from these people. OR you could post a picture of the back so people could see what you have!

Ive got extensive electrical training. I did the thing you should never do and assumed 115V. I guess I was right, b/c this thing has got me thru 2 complete PB guns already.

This thing is awesome. And $50 was a steal. Having CC/CV is making life good
