Default Half Submerging?

Hi I was wondering if you could half submerge a part in the acid and anodize only the piece that is submerged...or does the whole part have to be in there? I have people wanting me to do their dirt bike rims and because I dont have a big enough tank I cant fit the whole thing in there. But if I could I would like to half submerge one side...anodize..then dye that one color...then do the other half another color....please let me know. Thanks,

Joey T.

Have you calculated the surface area for a rim?
The current needed for a rim is going to be a little high submersion may not be your only problem.
How much electrolyte do you have?

It will look like poo. You'll have to do the whole thing at once.

For something that large you might want to take it to a shop.

wuuuzuuup back at ya!
Yeah, I have tried this, and it actually works... sort of. The thing is, it will (at least) leave a hard line where the two passes overlap.
It just would not be an acceptable product to offer a customer.
