Default anodize lock nuts?

Is it possible to anodize small locknuts? Will the nylon contaminate my ano bath? I tried searching this forum but couldn't find anything.

Thanks,
Gary

The nylon may become brittle from the acid. You're anodizing aluminum lock nuts? I didn't know there was such a thing.

I'm not sure they are aluminum just going by what I was told. My main concern was contaminating the bath. I don't think I'm going to mess with them. Thanks Acid

I anodize these nuts on a regular basis. Just wire them up and letem go. Have not had any get brittle or come apart at all.

you can find them here. No orange but you can get plain. I use a vibratory tumbler to polish them. https://www.fastener-express.com/ind...S&Category=218

Hurricaneracing,

So your ano bath isn't contaminated by the nylon? Thanks for the info!

You have to be careful I believe, their 7075. I anodize them for 1/2 time.
