Default Gold-Dye: impossible to bleach

Hi Folks!!!

Another question.....no real problem, but I was trying to bleach golden dyed parts.... the bleach works immediatly at any color I dyed before......except the golden stuff....
Is there any difference between golden dyes and the other colors? Seems to be, cause there was NO reaction between "gold-dye" and bleach...?!?
Very strange......

Greets....LOON

Edit:....Problem solved.....the bleach doesn't work with "my" gold dye.....(no Caswell product).....Sulfuric Acid bleached it bright and in my eyes no former dye remains....

As a rule, always follow bleach with acid (but don't mix them). The acid will liberate any remaining chlorine molocules in the ano, allowing the next color to take easily. Doing both bleach then acid will always leave a perfectly clean surface.

Right.....the surface after I handled it in this way was perfect.....the thing I don't understand is, why all the other colors disappeared ONLY using the bleach.....

The gold dye could be a synthetic dye, or something that isnt prone to loosing its color when bleach hits it. I believe the gold dyes are made from some kind of ground mineral or oxide. Bleach doesnt take the color out of red rust which is an oxide of iron, dont see why it would bleach another oxide. The sulfuric acid would eat away the mineral/oxide and remove it, while bleach wouldnt.
