Machining anodized parts
Hi, I am looking for any advice on finishing a component. It is an aluminium case to be used whist canoeing so it will be subjected to lots of water, possibly salt water on occasion. I am looking to anodise it black. However it requires some text to be engraved out of it. I was hoping to anodize it black and then have the text engraved to bare aluminium. That way it would stand out. Can anyone see any problems with this? Is there likely to be any corrosion issues with the salt water?

The small area's engraved are subject to corrosion. I would have someone mask what you want engraved into the anodized surface, as this will give the color contrast you want, with it still being anodized.
