So I was playing around with masking today; was actually gonna try a camo pattern (olive, brown, and black)

I laid the brown base coat, then brushed on RUBBER CEMENT. Let the rubber cement dry. Bleach, then acid. Went to olive. Bleach, then acid. Went to black. (Of course I'm rinsing between steps, and letting the RC dry)

My main problem was getting the freaking rubber cement off! Wouldnt peel off. So I finally gave up, and soaked it in laquer thinner. Thinner broke it down, but it was still hard to remove, even scrubbing. Needless to say, I threw the test piece in the trash.

Yes, Im sure it was rubber cement before you ask. Its like the rubber cement stuck like hell to the fresh ano.

Any tips for next time?

hvac = smurf on underworld?

i dont know if youve seen pics of my ego i did or not but i did the barrel 2 color splash with a black base to match the gun used rubber cement as well it was hard to get off but it wasnt that bad ...clear swirls then pink then black i didnt go as far as using acid to strip it just bleach and it came out well the only prob i had was i had to reano after the pink swirls because the black didnt want to take properly but it came out great in the end rubber cement apparently bonds to metal a little better than it should :P

Yeah, it's normal...
Try warming the lacquer thinner. It will cut it a little easier.

I use WD-40 and a soft cloth to remove rubber cement. Works very well.
