Quick question on the 720 rule. I am anno a small round part roughly 8 square inches of sa, shooting for approx 1 mil thickness and the 720 calculator states Set Current .33 Amp, Time 120 Minutes, Peak Voltage 15 Vdc .

Does this sound about right?

Thanks again!!

I got my PS from Ebay user name power_supply_source.
If you're sure the PS is shot, get tough with him and ask how to get it repaired or replaced.
Your 720 rule calcs are correct for a current density of 6 amps per sq. ft. (which is what I use).

not to hijack your thread but Acid i bought that mastech you told me to buy and i am having similar issues i start with CV wide open and CC off and i have to repeatedly shut it off and on and play with the CC side to get it to actually start almost like there is a short it took about 15 minutes to actually get it to work....do these units have a warm up type period of time on them?

Never had a problem like that... are you sure you're faminliar with the operation of the rough and fine adjustments?
Starting with the volts all the way up, and the amps all the way off?

yep its like it has to warm up and then the fan will kick on and you get all the adjustment you need.

FWIW, We also bought one of these when our good one died and was out for repair. The mastech 30/30 died in 2-3 months of use. We also bought from evan... and I contacted by email and seems genuine in replacing it but wanted the old one back. We sent the old one back a few months ago and didn't hear anything for a long time. So I emailed again and sent UPS info as requested. Didn't hear anything for a while again. So I emailed again asking for status. He said he still couldn't find the package we sent but since our tracking info said it was delivered (and it was even signed for by him) that he send a replacement anyway. The last response was just last week, So if we don't have new PS this week, I'll be following up.... again. Seems like a nice enough and honest guy, but the warranty replacement process has been way too drawn out. Needless to say we found a good deal on another good one on ebay (used of course)... exact same model as our previous one, but in better shape and about the same price as the Mastech. Working great so far.

I have made no headway with him. I have asked and asked for a address to send it back but nothing so far. I have ordered 2 new ones from another seller a 5 amp and another 10 amp and hopefully they will be here by weeks end.

Starns mine is doing the exact same thing but sometimes it just will not start in CC mode no matter how long I wait or fiddle with it.

Our replacement showed up today. All my correspondance was by email (I wanted it all in writing). but if you need I can send you an address. Has he asked you to send it back yet? He wanted me to verify operation by doing something first but after I did that and replied with the results he ok'd me to send it back. Keep after him, I believe that he'll come through for you. If you need help getting more contact info just let me know.

He asked me to explain what was malfunctioning and I replied several times in detail once on the phone then he asked me to email him I have done that as well several times however he has not asked me to return it although I have asked him several times for the return mailing address. I am done 2 new ones are ordered and I just wont do business with him any more.
