Default Stripping questions

Using Caswells stripper, often there are places that are slow to strip, namely inside reg pieces, inside bodies, etc.

With the newer, tighter tolerance guns, Im deathly afraid of leaving it in the stripper too long (to remove the stubborn areas) and throwing of tolerances of the quicker stripped areas.

How do you guys do about stripping?

I forgot who it was, but a guy somewhere told me that Caswells stripper would eat aluminum, and to leave it in the stripper for ONE minute at a time, pulling out and checking every minute. Since day one, with stripper diluted as directed, Im having to leave it in there for at least 10 minutes, some longer.

Ive never had a customer complain about leaking guns when the reassembled it, but Im just curious on how you more experienced guys do it.

Try warming the stripper a bit, and it will eat through the ano much more agresively. I wouldn'd go past 90F though.
Also, thoroughly clean the parts first in solvent to remove every trace of grease. The synthetic grease used for PB is especially stubborn. I use lacquer thinner, then soap and water, then strip/rinse/de-smut/rinse.

Get an extra bucket, and some of the thick lime green colored "simple green" from walmart or wherever, Mixed up 1 container to about 1-2 gallon of water. Just let greasy parts soak for a day or two, and wash before you strip. They will strip down even all around.
