I know cast isnt ideal for anodising but I thought I'd have a go anyway, using the usual calculations and powers/concs etc that do my nice machined/plate parts nicely. However this cast part wanted to draw an aweful lot more current than its equivelent normal plate. I etched the surface with lye for 30 seconds, it fizzed a lot all over and came out looking nice and shiny. I rinsed and put in the ano tank - fired it up for the required time and this came out after dying:
![]() The machined surfaces have taken poorly and the non-machined parts have not at all (well, the odd dot). Any ideas? Is it impurities? Cheers J |
