Default please help!!

when i left a piece about 10 min on my caustic soda i had this great mate finish, but i wanted to try a bright finish, so i didn't left the piece in the caustic soda a lot of time, and i saw that in my ano tank it started to grow little black spots and it ended up looking like this. it is only in the teeth, have no idea what i did wrong.

Are those spots in thie pic pits or discoloration?
Cast or billet part?
It looks like a couple of problems I've seen both related to material of the part.

That is what it appeared to me. The problem is from the material and sometimes brought more from the machining process. It's sometimes hard to cover up. I usually strip and refinish the material by polishing or bead blasting then reanodize to minimum time for the desired color. Etching with lye tends to bring it out also.
