Default Anodizing cast aluminum

Simple question. Can it be done? And how? I know it's possible, maybe with nearly perfect surface prep? And if I smelt up 6061 aluminum over the other alloys would the process work better?

Question being because I have alot of experience in casting but nearly zip when it comes to anodizing. I would love to have my boat and street luge parts look like the extruded alloys.

Some can be done. It is usually a major pain. It all depends on the material grade, mix and silicone content.
