I am looking for ideas on how to do multicolor dying on a single piece. Is it possible to mask areas for differnt colors and then how do you keep previously dyed areas from being affected by later color application.

Yes, it is possible to do multi-color anodizing.
You can immerse the part in multiple dyes, you can air brush the dyes, you can silkscreen, splash dye etc. Masking is one option, there are more. The process is explained in great detail in our plating manual.
