I understand why a constant current power supply is ideal for anodizing but nobody can really give me good information whether a linear supply or a switcher is better. I read in a few places that a linear supply is better but without any explanation. Switchers switch so fast I don't know if it would really make a noticeable difference. Does anybody have any experiences with both types of supplies? What are you suggestions?
If I don't come to a good conclusion I will try both supplies and see if I can see any differences. Thanks |

I have both, and prefere the linear...
The constant clicking of the relays in the switcher bothers me. They are physically lighter, therefor less to ship. They are slightly cheaper. My linear seams to hold the current a little more steady. On a side note, the one failed unit that I had to get replaced under warranty was a linear.
