Silvaspray prep ?'s

What types of prep materials & or measures are being used to aid in keeping Silvaspray from peeling. Tried thicker coats, thinner coats ... no real luck. Any help would be appreciated, want to plate handle bar controls on a motorcycle ( 1st timer too) and not having alot of luck w/ the paint adhering to the part.
