Plating Cleaner
Mike,
Please consider selling EPI E-Kleen 125. It is of course very strongly alkaline given that it is largely lye-based. But without it I could not successfully plate anything. Nothing else is reliable and gives me a repeatable waterbreak. I personally don't need any since I have enough to last me years. But there are countless folks on this forum still struggling endlessly to find a reliable cleaning method.
It is a white powder that must be dispensed carefully and mixed with water. It must be heated to about 160F and can be used electrolytically or as a soak cleaner.
It needs to come with appropriate warnings, and should be neutralized before disposal. But in that sense, there's no difference between the chrome kits or sulfuric acid which is recommended for several processes including nickel pickling and acid copper. I have had a few accidental encounters with Lye that were not pleasant. But it wasn't really much worse than paint remover, either.
Also, consider selling some good quality affordable ultrasonic machines for the countless among us trying to clean small parts.
Kind regards,
Ken
