Default Help please...

Hi,
I just did some parts with flash copper then copy chrome. After they came out of the copy chrome, they had a real bad yellow tint to them. I plated 20sq. in. at .61 amps for an hour. I was able to polish them afterwards with white compound/sewn cotton wheel, and they looked good, but i've never had to do that before. any help would be great thanks!!

Woody

Hey Woody.
How is it going I haven’t heard from you in a while?
After looking at the picture you provided I can see that the edges are a little burnt. Make sure that your parts are not too, close to the anodes you might even bring your temp down a little. Check your anodes to be sure they are clean also are you keeping enough brighteners in your solution
these are some things I would check

Hey Jim!
Thanks for the info. It was the first batch I had done in a very long time. (I have been doing much more powder coating these days) I double filtered all of my solutions because they had been sitting around. Then I added more brightener. I ran the copy chrome at right around 70 degrees, so i don't think it could be too hot. Too close maybe. Also the anode definitely might have been dirty. They too had been sitting around oxidizing. I will say that might second batch came out better with less yellowing. Both batches polished up real nice and shiny. I just hope they stay that way, and the parts don't yellow much later on. Hopefully, I'll be back in full plating swing (along with the powder) real soon. The only real problem is finding time. Anyone know where to get more of that?
