Default Copy Chrome Problems Need Help!!!!!!

I have been doing copy chrome for over a month, doing small handles 4 at a time. For the most part everything has been coming out perfect, but today my parts started to turn an odd color on one side. As I tried different things (less current, more current, higher temp, lower temp) It progressively got worse. I'm hoping that its just a brightener issue. I'm new to this and I haven't added anything to the original solution. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

From experience this is what I can tell you if this buffs off then it is simply a prep or plating problem if it remains after buffing then you will have to add more brightener

Just out of curiosity Z,

With the low brightner problems you experienced, did you find that the CC tarnished with water or finger prints as well? This is a question often asked, but can not find an answer in the forums. Would appear it was usually solved over the phone.

Jim may be able to shed light on this?

cheers

When plating with the copy chrome you need to plate for about 90 minutes to get a thick plating. If the parts are coming out with a slight haze on the item and it buffs off easily then it is fairly normal. If your parts are coming out consistently dull then brightener should be added. The brightener will deteriorate over time and needs to be replenished.
