Copy Chrome steel parts??

Hi all,
I have got my copy chrome kit up and running, and was wondering if I need to flash copper coat some small steel parts. They had been chromed buts its past its sell by date and needs re-chromed. I don't want to do it until I know if they can be copy chromed onto the steel after all the prep work is carried out OR if they need to be flash coated with copper before chroming.
I pretty new to all this so any help is apprecitated.

You can Copy Chrome steel parts without flash copper, but you must make sure the old chrome is removed first Then buff and copy chrome. I would copy chrome for 1.5 to 2 hours to get a thick plate. Todd
