Yes. Google "estimation of <zinc/nickle> in solution".
I have a problem to find the percentage between zinc and nickel composition in metal plating. Is there any titration method i can use to solve it without using spectrophotometer or any costly device?hope anyone could help..
Yes. Google "estimation of <zinc/nickle> in solution".
actually i am study the composition after dissolved off the plating by using 50% nitric acid and boil it..not from the solution..
I'm confused too James. Looks like the requirements are changing. On his first post, he stated this: "Is there any titration method i can use to solve it without using spectrophotometer or any costly device?".
Almasih: I think you will need to use a "wet ash" process but I'm still not sure that's going to give you what you want. As James asked, are you trying to recover the nickel, just determine if nickel is present or determine the percent of nickel?
yes..im looking the percentage of nickel..im not so good at this..so pls help me..
This may help look at the response from Lance, it'll tell you what to use for titration.

thanks for ur help..i will try it then..![]()
actually i am working with acid digestion method.im stripped off the zinc nickel plating from metal by using nitric acid and then do 2 titration with EDTA.the first one with murexide indicator then second with xylenol orange indicator.but my problem is the 1st titration which i used murexide indicator is so hard to identify the color change from yellow to reddish violet.now i just put about 3 cristal into it. What is the right amount i should use?
