Default Chroming anodized aluminum.

I am interested in chroming an anodized aluminum computer case. I am interested in if it can be done (see concern below), pricing, and shops in the bay area that could do this.

Some portions of the anodized aluminum case have perforated holes about .125 inches in diameter. After chroming would these holes remain unblocked? The holes must remain unblocked. The aluminum is roughly .25 inches thick or less throughout the case.

The dimensions of the case are:

Height: 20.1 inches (51.1 cm)
Width: 8.1 inches (20.6 cm)
Depth: 18.7 inches (47.5 cm)

This is not a joke. Thanks in advance.

You can't electroplate anodized aluminum. You'd need to strip the anodize first, then chrome plate the aluminum.

I sort of suspected that. Thank you.

So it looks like I can get an un-anodized aluminum case. Would someone be so kind as to comment on my questions above.

Thanks!

You can prevent the holes from plating by plugging them with a piece of plastic or similar material.
