Default This must have been answered a thousand times! But... HELP!

Years ago I used a very simple product called 'Gunsons Speed-Plate' to electrolytically plate a coating of zinc/tin, and repair stone-chip damage on my steel-bodied car, using the cars own battery as the source of electric.

Unfortunately the product is no longer available from Gunsons, and I don't know of any other companies who produce a similar kit small enough for the average home user.

I still have the useful parts of the kit, but no longer have any of the electrolytic solution used in the process. There is no information on the bottle as to what was actually in the solution other than it was, or contained 'Sulphamic acid'

Please could anyone tell me if an alternative product which works in a similar manner is available, and where I might find it. Or, what the chemical make-up of the solution would be, so that I could get a chemist to produce a small quantity of it for my own use. I must stress that I only need a very small quantity.

Any help will be gratefully received

Our Copy Cad & Zinc Plating kit will provide the same finish.

See http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/zinc.htm

If this is too large for you, give us a call and we'll see about customizing a smaller kit for you.

Caswell,

Thank you very much for your very prompt and helpful response.

Fortunately the UK contact Speed Demon Motorcycles aren't too far from me, so maybe I'll give them a call, and take a trip down to Hampshire sometime.

Again my thanks
