    Default Techno Weld

I'm posting this in case someone searches for it in the future....

Finally got around to trying Techno weld last night. I had to fill the HONDA letters on a motorcycle engine cover. Cast aluminum cover, high in silicone. Put the piece on the stove, and hit the area to be repaired with some propane from a torch too. Once it got up to temp, man the stuff stuck great. I started sanding down the area, and couldn't see much of a transition between the aluminum and the repair. I've really happy so far, should save some time trying to repair aluminum using regular solder and a copper plated surface.

I still have yet to try to plate over it, will post on that later - but if anyone has some info that would be helpful to plating it, please share.

I haven't used the brand but I've used the alumi-weld sticks quite a bit. Everything from fixing a lawnmower engine to repairing aluminum auto panels. Prep is everything for this type of repair. But as you, I haven't tried to plate it yet.

Hey Jimmy, did you get my message on the EN plating?
