Will parts plated with the triple chrome plate kit stand up to metal to metal impact such as what would be seen on a hood striker or door striker without peeling back or flaking the chrome off or are these parts better off with hard chrome? I didn't know if decorative chrome can withstand that type of punishment.

I doubt they would stand up. Hard chrome isn't the answer either. It's an industrial coating used to build up shafts etc. It's not shiny. Don't most vehicles just leave these as bare metal?
