Default Newbie Question about a power supply w/zinc-cadmium set

Since they're out of the rectifier I was going to buy I was wondering if I could use something like a 10v 1.5amp a/c adapter , an extenion cord with a dimmer switch set on low or a 12v battery for a power supply with the zinc cadmium kit. I'll be plating mostly small parts.
    Thanks.

Your best bet until the supplies come in would be some 1.5 volt batteries. You need to keep the voltage low and adjust the current. AA, C and D will work. You can connect a couple in parallel, too.

IMO, the 3A supply is useless. Get the 5A unit....you'll quickly run out of current with the 3A model.
