Default Need some help getting set up for zinc/cad and withmy power supply

The other day I was told I could use batteries for a power supply but I just purchased a variable DC power supply. It's 2 Meters. Amperes 0-1, Volts 0-5, Dial to increase decrease power 0-130.
Will this give me enough power to be able to zinc plate and color w/yellow chromate parts as big as carburetors ? I'm just getting started and I know nothing, yet. What setting should I start out with?
Any advice on getting started , the stuff that they don't tell you in the manual. I don't want to ruin anything and get discouraged. I just ordered today but I'm going to read as much as I can from the forums before my stuff arrives, hopefully I'll gain some knowledge.
    Thanks!

If you go here - Electroplating Current Requirement Calculator - Caswell Inc. - our tool will tell you how many amps you need to zinc plate something.

If you need to work out the surface area of your part, go can also go here - Caswell Inc - Calculating Surface Areas
