Default Need high temp chrome platable filler for steel

I make custom motorcycle pipes and need a filler for minor imperfections that can withstand up to about 1000F and be chrome plated. Alternately, I need a tinning or conductive paint to go over lab metal.

I normally use lab metal with caswell ceramics and pc but some guys want chrome.

I looked at the steel epoxy stick here but it doesn't indicate its temperature range or whether it is suitable for chroming.

    THanks for your help.

It'd have to be a metal repair to do what you expect of it. I've seen some "softer" welding rods that would shape easily, but they're silicone based, and wouldn't plate well.

Depending on just how deep the imperfections are, you may not need anything at all as copper can applied thicker to specific areas. Most likely you're best option is brazing. But if these are pipes that are new, why do you have imperfections in them?

The imperfections are small gaps in joints after brazing. Also when you cut a mandrel bend half way through it is slightly oval. Welding that to a straight (round) piece, leaves a small uneven spot that needs to be filled to look right.

I see. I've seen on those hot rod shows that when the join bent sections, they use a tailpipe expander to make it round again.

You might be best to find a braze at a slightly lower temp (but still above 1000F), sandblast the old stuff, and try to repair on top of the old. But if they offer such a thing, please state what it is in terms of composition, and I'll let you know how compatible it'd be with plating.
