Hi all,
I have had some medallion-size pieces cast in silver and I need to plate them with around 3 microns of gold.
Unfortunately platers in the country I reside don't provide high quality plating and my quantities are too small to interest them, which why I am looking into cyanide-free solutions that I could do myself. I have a few questions:
1. It is said on the site that the 24 ct Gold Solution will plate 2 micro inches per minute. According to my calculations, it would require a plating time of 1 hourto plate 3 microns (120 micro inches), am I right? Is it even possible to plate 3 microns with this solution?
2. Is it possible to obtain a specific shade of gold? (I need a deep color)
3. Is it possible to plate any quantity, however small? (like 1 medallion and 1 thin chain)
4. Do you need to replenish the gold in the solution? Or else, am I going to have to increase the plating time to obtain the same thickness? How does it work?
5. Do you sell rhodium plating solutions?
6. Is there any waste that requires special disposal?
Thank you in advance for your advice
