I'm planning to do some silver spot plating on some brass ornaments, and would like to know if it is necessary to acid activate after brush plating; before rinsing and polishing.

Also if the initial silver layer is not sufficient, can I just clean, prep, activate and add another layer with the brush, or should I start from scratch with a clean surface.

It's been a few years since my last project, and never did silver brush plating; only via small tanks...and can't locate my old manual.

Appreciate any tips to help me out with this.
