Default Process for Yellow fog light reflectors?

    Hi.
I'm new to the forum and looking to have my vintage fog light reflectors re-plated. What kind of plating is the familiar yellow on fog light reflectors? Is it zinc chromate? The reflectors are steel and I'm wondering if they have to be chromed first and then plated in yellow...

    Thanks!

Do you have a picture of these parts?

The only way to "plate" a yellow color onto steel would be to zinc plate them, then dip them in yellow chromate. It would give an iridescent yellow sheen to the parts.

Here's picture of the same light as mine. The lenses are clear and the reflectors are yellow.

The color is off on this photo and looks brownish. I'll find another photo.

Could it be brass plated maybe?

Update: It might be bright nickel plated and flash brass plated after to give it a gold like finish. Anyone disagree?

Here's a better representation of the color.
