Gold Plating musical instrument keys

Hello to anyone who can help me!

I want to gold plate the keys on my oboe (as well as the posts, rings etc.) and I am planning to purchase a gallon tank plating system, so I can do other projects as well.

My questions are as follows:

1.) Will the gold plating adhere to the silver plating that is already on the keys? Or will I have to plate before I plate?

2.) I would prefer 'rose' gold plating as opposed to 'yellow' gold plating. Is such a thing possible and how is this done?

call me, this is way more than you may want to get into as the pads, corks, etc...has to be removed before plating. we do this all day, every day.
