Default black nickle

Do you currently offer, or plan to offer, a kit for black nickle plating?

We had one in development, but couldn't get a consistent finish.

We don't currently have any plans to release black nickel.

Ok. A couple of related questions, then

1 - What exactly is the difference, if any, between black nickel and black chrome?

2 - If I nickel plated and then used a blackening agent, would it be possible to achive a reasonable approximation of black nickel plate?

The difference is the same between regular nickel and chrome. They're two different metals with different properties.

Yes, you could experiment with the blackeners, but take note that the blackeners are meant to produce an antiqued like black finish, whereas the black nickel is supposed to be shiny with a black lustre.

That's what I thought, but when doing some web searchs I saw the terms used interchangeably a couple of times, so I wasn't sure.
