Hi. I'm curious to know if there is a way to chrome plate over a pinstriped pattern? For example, if a piece were copper plated, polished, nickel plated, polished again, then painted with a pinstripe pattern using some sort of paint or possibly etched into the metal and the etching filled with gold or anodizing color dye, and then chromed (or black-chromed) over the top of that, so that the pattern would be visible yet would also be protected as part of the plating?

Sounds like you think the chrome is clear. It isn't.
