How does BN compare to a dry film lubricant such as that supplied by techline coatings? I have been coating pistons for a couple of years now and personally burnishing back the dfl applied to the skirts to maintain a acceptable piston to wall clearance is a pain. What I like about the possible use of BN is the tolerance control you have. Does anybody have more detailed information on the application techniques for doing pistom skirts with BN? The ceramic ceremet coatings for the piston crowns is great. where the undersides of the pistons in a uncoated piston turns brown from the oilburning from the heat does not occur on coated pistons. any info on whether or not bn is as good as a dry film lubricant would be greatly appreciated.
